Expansion of Technology Org and New Roles Underscore Commitment to Off-the-Shelf Solutions at LMI
August 5, 2025
McLean, VA – LMI announced this week a significant expansion of its technology organization, reinforcing the company’s investment in commercial-grade, mission-ready solutions for federal agencies. This evolution further strengthens LMI’s ability to deliver off‑the‑shelf products and platforms that accelerate speed‑to‑solution, enable efficiency, and help agencies achieve mission impact faster.
LMI is leaning further into delivery models that prioritize speed and extensibility by offering pre-built, scalable platforms and packaged IP. This shift positions LMI to meet the growing federal demand for ready‑to‑deploy technology that drives results faster.
As part of this transformation, Jared Summers will move into the senior leadership team as SVP & Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Formerly LMI’s Defense Market CTO, Summers will now lead the newly integrated CTO organization, overseeing multiple pillars driving rapid prototyping and side-by-side engineering with customers. His background in the XVIII Airborne Corps, where he served as its first Corps Chief Technology Officer, provides real-world DoD technology experience. Combined with his subsequent experience in logistics, data analytics, and digital transformation across the Air Force, Army, and Office of the Secretary of Defense, Summers brings a unique blend of military and enterprise innovation to steer LMI’s scaled, mission-relevant solutions.
Further reinforcing LMI’s commitment to deployable technology, Dr. Joe Norton will move into the newly created SVP & Chief Product Officer (CPO) role, overseeing product strategy and lifecycle. Norton will guide net-new innovation and the ongoing management of LMI’s productized platforms—RAPTR®, LIGER®, IronSled™ and more—ensuring they remain extensible, scalable, and mission‑ready across civilian and defense missions. Over the past five years leading LMI’s Forge innovation studio, he has built a holistic ecosystem that fuses human‑centered design, applied R&D, advanced analytics, systems engineering, and enterprise architecture to rapidly prototype, test, and bring platforms to market. A Ph.D. graduate of UCLA, Norton brings a deep technical foundation and a proven track record of translating cutting‑edge research into operational impact.
“Federal missions can’t wait for technology to catch up,” said Josh Wilson, LMI President of Markets, Growth, & Technology. “I genuinely believe that the future of federal technology is solutions built ahead of need by people who understand the stakes. By expanding our organization, we can deliver day-one-ready innovation even faster—helping agencies achieve mission impact with speed, precision, and confidence.”
The expanded organization also includes Engineering & Rapid Prototyping led by Alex Adamczyk, Applied Research & Academic Partnerships led by Brant Horio, and Alliances & Partnerships led by Brian Tonge. Together, this leadership team will continue to advance LMI’s ability to deliver technology at the speed of mission.
“This is about giving our federal customers solutions they can trust immediately, because they have seen and touched the working solution from the outset,” said Doug Wagoner, LMI CEO. “By investing in platforms that are tested and proven, we help agencies solve problems faster, reduce investment risk, and focus on the mission instead of the mechanics.”
This evolution further strengthens LMI’s ability to deliver off‑the‑shelf products and platforms that accelerate speed‑to‑solution, enable efficiency, and help agencies achieve mission impact faster.
